Derbyshire Dales Conservatives have selected Sarah Dines as their parliamentary candidate for the upcoming General Election on 12th December.
On being selected, Sarah said: “I am delighted to have been chosen as the Conservative candidate for Derbyshire Dales and can’t wait to speak to as many people as possible about my positive vision for this area and how I intend to be a local champion who campaigns on issues such as saving our precious green belt from development, working to resolve local concerns and ensuring that Derbyshire Dales digital connectivity is improved for businesses and families alike.”
Sarah paid thanks to Sir Patrick McLoughlin who announced he would not be seeking re-election as Member of Parliament, by saying: “Sir Patrick has been an excellent MP for Derbyshire Dales, I wish him well for the future and thank him for all that he has done to help make this area an even better place to live work and raise a family. I know he will be missed.”
Sarah added “We don’t want an election. But as things stand we simply have no choice – like the voters across Derbyshire Dales, I want to see the result of the referendum is respected and it is only by having a Conservative government with a functional majority that we can get Brexit done immediately with the Prime Minister’s Great New Deal.
“The offer from Jeremy Corbyn’s Labour Party, is months more dithering, delaying, and the chaos of another two referendums, which means the issues that make a real difference to people’s lives, like the NHS, schools and more police will not get the attention they need.”
